For years, Id routinely smoothed on face base to look pulled together and to cover acne, post-pregnancy melasma, and new-mom dark circles and Id been pretty pleased with the skin-improving results. But around my fortieth birthday, I noticed my complexion actually looked better before I applied makeup. Foundation made me look more tired, erasing any natural radiance I still possessed, and, as the day wore on, settling into my lines and pores.

It turns out there is a scientific reason foundation starts to betray you. As we age, our skin gets dryer and is thus more apt to slurp up anything we slather on it. Pros:

• Clean beauty all the way. Unless you’re averse to dimethicone, as mentioned above, there is no irritating ingredient in here–at least not by my standards.

• Zinc oxide sunblock is gentle on the skin.

• You don’t need a separate moisturizer and foundation this can serve as both.

• A true natural finish. It gives light to medium coverage, but your skin definitely peeks through and it almost gives your skin a lit-from-within look.

• Huge jar that will last a long time.

• Did not need to set with a finishing powder because it soaks right into the skin.

Cons:

• If you have oily skin, this may not be the best fit for you. It’s not oily on its own, but with its rich consistency, I can see someone with oilier skin thinking this product is too much.

• Limited shade range

• On the expensive side

• If you want a heavy coverage foundation, not the product you’re looking for

Me, after 6 hours of wear, with no filter and no finishing powder and after a hell of a lot of face grabs from kids.

This gets a big thumbs up from me! I’m always on the lookout for products that have clean SPF, and give natural coverage, and this is it!

It looks good throughout the day. I dont notice any cracking or weirdness, just a general slight fading away as youd expect with a lightweight product on a sweaty face. So while some may say this product gives a dewy finish, I think its closer to a natural finish with a *bit* of dew when applying.

How To Apply

I had gotten into the habit of not wearing any makeup, but the coverage was so light and airy that later in the day , I skipped washing my face.
