Who Could Benefit From This Product

This moisturizer is marketed to people with dry skin, but its weightless texture makes it amazing for those who run oily. Its oil-free and noncomedogenic, so it wont clog your pores or lead to any new breakouts. It may even help those with active breakouts calm their skin since the ingredients are so simple.

Those with sensitivities to fragrance and synthetic dyes should be aware that both are present in this product, however.

The dimethicone-based moisturizer may also work for those looking for a lightweight daytime moisturizer. It layers well with other skin care products and makeup, too.

It Works Well With Dry And Oily Skin

Even though this moisturizer is beneficial for dry skin types, those with oily, acne-prone, or sensitive skin can still enjoy it. A little background: I have combo skin, so while I can get oily throughout the day, my skin also tends to get dry around my breakouts. Its ultra-sensitive right now, too, since Ive started using a prescription-strength retinoid to treat my acne.

But since Neutrogenas Hydro Boost is noncomedogenic , and is free of oils, dyes, or fragrances, Ive experienced no irritation or breakouts from it. It also has a pleasant gel consistency, so it feels pretty weightless underneath my makeup.

Dont take just my word for it: It keeps my face soft and moisturized the entire day. It even takes away the shine my forehead tends to get after I wash it. Every. Time. Its also very gentle on my sensitive skin not one breakout from using it, one review wrote.

Home Remedy #: Milk And Honey For Dry Skin

NEUTROGENA HYDRO BOOST GEL-CREAM MOISTURIZER REVIEW (Extra Dry, Fragrance Free) | Zulayla

You should avoid taking long hot baths for healthy skincare. However, you can still enjoy a relaxing bath set at a warm, moderate temperature. Best of all, you can add milk and honey to the bath as a method of treating skin dryness.

Milk can nourish your skin, exfoliating it to remove those flaky dead skin cells. Similarly, honey has moisturizing and antibacterial properties. Together, they have beneficial effects on the severe dry skin on your legs. Pour half a cup of honey into a bowl and insert some boiling water. Next, introduce one cup of milk and mix well. Add the mixture to the water of your bath, and soak in it.

    How It Feels As Moisturizer

I have one previous experience with an oil-free gel moisturizer, and I wasnt impressed. The formula didnt leave my skin feeling moisturized enough since it was so lightweight. However, I was determined to try this product due to its glowing reviews and promising claims.

When I first received the product, I immediately swatched it on the back of my hand, like I always do with new products. I also performed a patch test near the jawline and didnt notice any reaction.

One of the first things I noticed about this moisturizer, aside from the blue color, was the fragrance. It has an overwhelming scent that lingers. For those sensitive to fragrance, there is an unscented version, which is formulated for extra-dry skin.

The blue formula, which gets its hue from synthetic dyes, glides onto the skin and disappears shortly after. It sinks in without a trace, leaving only the feeling of soft, moisturized skin. It also layers well with other products. The gel consistency feels more wet than your typical moisturizer, so multiple layers of skin care products can blend together seamlessly.

Im always feeling wary that my skin is too oily or shiny, but this gel moisturizer didnt make my skin feel or look greasy. I could apply this and go out into the world without feeling self-conscious about my shiny forehead. I also took advantage of this moisturizers skin-smoothing dimethicone and used it as a primer for makeup. It held up nicely.

Home Remedy #: Diet For Dry Skin

Does reading about cream, flour, honey, and all the other ingredients make you feel hungry? If so, pay attention to what you eat. A healthy diet rich in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids can moisturize your dry skin. Add plenty of fruits and vegetables to your recipes. Also, introduce fish to your diet since it is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids. Of course, dont forget to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream Extra Dry

Dry skin might occur for various reasons, including cold weather, excessive hot baths, or genetic composition. The condition can be troublesome, leading to flaky or cracked skin on your legs. Dry skin can also prompt itchiness. If you scratch your legs too often, you may aggravate the dry skin, causing an unsightly redness across your complexion.

The first step to treating the dry skin on your legs involves getting rid of the aggravators. Start by avoiding hot baths, harsh antibacterial soaps, and products that contain fragrance. These culprits contribute to the water loss in the outer layer of your skin, ultimately causing dryness. Instead, you can restore the moisture with various skin rejuvenation treatments at Beauty Med.

In addition, there are different ways to help alleviate skin dryness, simply by using common household ingredients. Try one of these home remedies for dry skin on legs:

Home Remedy #: Leg Mask For Dry Skin

If your dry legs are itchy and red, try soothing them with a leg mask made from cream and flour. The cream contains vitamins, minerals, and proteins to nourish your skin and lock in moisture. Start by washing your legs. Next, mix some cream and flour to form a thick paste, then apply it to your legs. Let it dry for 15 minutes before rinsing it off to reveal smooth skin.

Home Remedy #: Olive Oil & Honey For Dry Skin

Olive oil and honey are effective home remedies for dry skin on legs. Olive oil contains fatty acids, which help moisturize skin. It also contains vitamin E, which will protect your skin from environmental factors that cause dryness. As for honey, it has a long-documented history of treating dry skin effectively.

A mixture of virgin olive oil and honey is easy to make at home. Mix one tablespoon of olive oil with one tablespoon of honey to form a paste. Apply the home remedy on your legs, let it dry for a while, and rinse it off.

Home Remedy #: Coconut Oil For Dry Skin

Beyond its use in the kitchen, coconut oil also comes with beauty benefits for your skin. Coconut oil is well-known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, containing fatty acids that help moisturize dry skin. Plus, coconut oil is an emollient, which means it fills in the space between the cells on the skin surface. As a result, applying coconut oil to your legs will leave the skin soft and smooth.

After taking a bath, massage your legs with coconut oil. Give the coconut oil time to dry for maximum effectiveness. You can apply this coconut oil to very dry skin on your legs every day, preferably right before going to bed.

    How It Performs

NEUTROGENA Hydro Boost Gel-Cream EXTRA DRY SKIN HYALURONIC ACID REVIEW

The star ingredient of this moisturizer is sodium hyaluronate, a form of hyaluronic acid the gold standard for hydration in skin care. This ingredient attracts and binds water to the skin, giving a more plump appearance and hydrated feel. The effects of sodium hyaluronate in this moisturizer are noticeable. Skin looks and feels more hydrated instantly.

However, this moisturizer only has one job to hydrate the skin. It does its job well but left me wanting more. I prefer a moisturizer that not only hydrates but also offers other benefits, like:
