Molluscum Contagiosum Can Cause Doughnut
Though acne pimples are caused by bacteria on the skin, similar-looking lesions can actually be caused by a viral infection.
“Molluscum contagiosum is a viral skin condition that can cause doughnut-shaped pink or skin-colored bumps on the skin. When small, these may be confused with pimples,” Dr. Bard told Insider.
According to the British Association of Dermatologists, molluscum contagiosum is caused by a pox virus and can be spread from person to person through direct contact or sharing personal items like towels or clothes.
The condition is generally harmless and usually clears by itself, though in some people this may take between six and 18 months.
How Are Skin Cysts Treated
Cysts usually do not cause pain unless they rupture or become infected or inflamed. Most cysts do not disappear on their own without treatment. Some cysts may need to be drained to relieve symptoms. That involves piercing the cyst with a scalpel and draining it. That doesn’t cure the cyst, however. Some inflamed cysts can be treated with an injection of cortisonemedication to cause it to shrink. Cysts that do not respond to other treatments or reoccur can be removed surgically if they cause troublesome symptoms.
What Causes Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Despite its name, the herpes virus does not cause DH.
DH is caused by a sensitivity or intolerance to gluten. Gluten is a protein found in wheat and grains. When you have DH and eat food with gluten, the gluten combines with an antibody from the intestines. As the gluten and antibody circulate in the blood, they clog small blood vessels in the skin. This is what causes the rash.

Insect Bites And Stings

Bites from bed bugs are quite different. Compared to mosquitoes and spider bites, bites from bed bugs produce bigger rashes.

If you enjoy spending time outdoors, youre likely to get a bit now and then. The good news is, most bites fade away in 714 days.
The signs of a bug bite show almost immediately. If you notice a bug bite on your skin, quickly wash the area with soap and water.
If the itching is unbearable, you can apply a cold compress to the bite mark. Alternatively, you can apply calamine lotion to relieve the itching.
Top tip: Prevention is always better than cure. If you wake up from sleep with bite marks, you may have a bedbug infestation. I recommend you remove all your beddings, clothes and treat the area with a repellent.

How Are Epidermoid Cysts Treated
The effective treatment of epidermoid cysts requires that the sac of the cyst be completely removed. If the cyst is squeezed and the discharge is forced out without removing the sac, the cyst will return. Usually, a doctor will be able to remove the cyst by making only a small incision in the skin. Sebaceous Hyperplasia Can Look Like Large Pimples
Sebaceous hyperplasia takes the form of small bumps that grow in hair follicles with enlarged sebaceous glands. Though it is technically considered a tumor, sebaceous hyperplasia is totally harmless and not cancerous.
These benign growths often appear reddish with a hint of yellow or white, Dr. Potozkin explained. They tend to be inherited and most commonly appear on the face of older adults, though they can occur at any age.

Is It Hives Or Angioedema

Keratosis pilaris may make your skin look like you have goose bumps. The bumps are often the color of your skin. They may also look white, red, pinkish-purple on fair skin, or brownish-black on dark skin. They can feel rough and dry like sandpaper. They may itch, but they dont hurt. If you have keratosis pilaris on your face, it may look like acne, and you may look flushed. The skin on your face may be dry and chapped. Some people with keratosis pilaris only get a few flesh-colored bumps. Others have noticeable bumps that can look like a rash.
The area of your skin that is affected by keratosis pilaris may become darker or lighter than the surrounding skin. This can happen if you scratch or pick at the bumps.
Cancer And Blood Disorders
Generalized itchiness can occur with a variety of organ and blood cancers. This symptom occurs most frequently with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, sometimes preceding the diagnosis by a year or more. Itchy skin might also occur with leukemia, multiple myeloma, and cancer of the lung, prostate, colon, breast, brain, cervix, uterus or stomach. People with iron deficiency anemia and those who produce too many red blood cells also sometimes experience skin itchiness.
